However when an unknown lady goes overboard overnight and everyone denies she ever existed, Laura's investigative instincts take over. Out now, the Netflix platform

Presence Film

Steven Soderbergh challenges his creative boundaries with this innovative supernatural story captured wholly through the eyes of the spirit. The Black Phone

Derrickson's claustrophobic thriller stands strong without requiring a continuation. Taking place in 1978 Denver, a series of child abductions has made the children on edge. But the non-functional line on the wall keeps ringing, with eerie communicators giving advice, and the prophetic visions from his sibling Gwen might rescue him. An effective horror. Saturday 11 October, late evening, on Film4

The Eyes of Tammy Faye

In the struggle between God and Mammon, the victory is clear for Mammon in this director's delightfully tacky true story regarding the shamed TV preacher and her felon spouse. Garfield acts as the greedy Jim, who states early on, “God does not want us to be poor,”. He and Tammy Faye begin capitalizing on the nation's Christian beliefs. It's a riot of tacky decor, excessive cosmetics and insincerity, however Jessica Chastain succeeds to present the character with compassion. Next Tuesday, late night, the Film4 channel
