Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev won his initial title for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult period, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first championship following the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt since March of that year.

Victory also means he has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.

The player's retrieving strategy and frequent outbursts on court had prompted some to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five points to go ahead.

Both players traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a third set.

The opponent defended 4 early-game opportunities in a close final set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
